Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Loddiswell

Maha-Bharat Indian Restaurant

7 Mill St, Kingsbridge TQ7 1ED, UK – 01548 856003

Very nice enjoyed the meal. Very friendly staff and manager, well looked after...place was clean and nice inside with coloured lights and music. .would recommend this resturant .

A truly wonderful restaurant in sleepy Kingsbridge. Authentically spiced food and a great selection. The choice on the menu is almost too great. Modern surroundings and attentive service. Well priced and a take away options as well.

The Creeks End

Squares Quay, Creeks End, Kingsbridge TQ7 1HZ, UK – 01548 853434

Having ordered for two at 1929 on a Wednesday evening in June I was initially concerned that by 2010 the starter had not arrived. It came shortly afterwards and was delicious. The main course too was excellent and generous in portion. In short, a great little restaurant providing good food at a reasonable price but slow service.

Have been here many times and will return again. The food and drink has always been of a good quality. There are two comments I would make. One is that staff at the bar do not pay attention to whether there are customers waiting to be served. Many times I have walked from one side of the bar to the other trying to get their attention while they are chatting amongst themselves or they are talking on mobiles. The other comment is that the coffee although good is expensive and my wife always orders a large one and even that we consider a small one.

The Old Bakery

Promenade, Kingsbridge TQ7 1JD, UK – 01548 855777

The Old Bakery is a short 5 minute walk from the main car park but the car park charges up until 8pm so beware! The Old Bakery is in a lovely building and the main dining area is delightful with a great sense of intimacy but with a slightly rustic feeling. We decided to share all of our dishes and had 6 between us - pan fried chicken livers, Souvlaki, Persian lamb, Octopus,a bulgar wheat salad and Dolcelatte. The chicken livers were delicious and perfectly cooked in a sherry sauce, the Souvlaki were tender and very tasty and the salad was outstanding with lots of flavour and different textures. The Octopus was a nice texture but slightly lacking in flavour. We thought the portion of dolcelatte was rather on the small side for the price and as there were 2 of us it would have been great to have had 2 or 4 souvlakis rather than 3. The wine choice was good and we had an excellent Douro which went prefectly with everything. The churros with chocolate sauce were excellent - and I dont usually do deserts! Service was great and the manager was exceedingly charming and friendly. The meal for 2 with wine was £76 which I though was good value for an excellent meal.

Exquisite food, both the busy and tranquility surround. And possibly more importantly, the company is quite fine 💗
